Louis XVI-Style Kingwood Dressing Table, early 19th century, the rectangular trisected top with a hinged central mirrored section and two side sections, each hinged and opening outwards to reveal a storage well, above a frieze fitted with a central drawer flanked to either side by two short drawers, the upper ones false, raised on tapering circular legs ending in brass caps, h. 29", w. 39", d. 22".

  • Condition: Minor scratches and various shrinkage cracks to surface, now polished over, all consistent with age and use. Minor veneer repairs to central drawer. Evidence of filled shadows beneath the escutcheons on the front of the piece, evidence of possible earlier hardware. The hardware on the top of the piece appears original as well as the mounts on the legs. Four of the five locks are present. Nice older polished surface.
