Louis XVI-Style Mahogany Dining Table, 20th century, the circular table bisected and opening to accommodate five leaves, above a brass-bound frieze, raised on tapering square legs ending in brass caps and casters, h. 29", w. 52", l. 52", extended l. 149-1/2".

  • Condition: In overall good condition, exhibiting normal indications of age and use, including some light surface scratches and imperfections to the top. One demi-lune end exhibits a splice at the inside edge of the top, and another above one of the tenons. There is some filler applied to a shrinkage crack and at a lamination seam. There are some veneer chips to the inside edges of the leaf aprons. Two of the leaves aren't quite as nicely figured as the others. One leaf is missing the brass banding from the bottom apron edge. The table will accommodate a varying number of leaves. There is a pair of metal clamps on the bottom of the leaves and the table ends to give the extended table an unusually solid and stable top; one of those clamps is missing.
