Louis XVI-Style Polychrome, Parcel-Gilt and Marble-Top Console and Trumeau Mirror

early 20th century, the mirror with a carved flower basket cartouche over an oval oil-on-board of frolicking putti, adorned with carved floral swags and a beveled mirror, h. 86", w. 53-1/2", the console with an inset marble top on a conforming base raised on turned and reeded legs joined by shaped stretchers and a central flame finial, h. 40", w. 55", d. 20".


Provenance: Private collection, New Orleans, Louisiana.


  • Condition: **In overall very good condition.

    The table is tight and sturdy. The marble top is in very good condition.

    The surfaces exhibit some scattered rubbing and scrapes to the polychromy.

    A few chips to the edges of carved surfaces.

    Indications of scattered, minor insect damage. None appears sufficiently severe to affect the integrity of the pieces.

    Some occlusions and imperfections to the silvering in the mirrors.
