Notes: The architect and artist Mac Ball was raised in Charleston and studied at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Yale School of Architecture. Ball lives in New Orleans where he became concerned about the coastal erosion and its impact on the environment. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, his architectural firm Waggonner & Ball partnered with experts from the Netherlands to manage stormwater management in the urban areas. Ball's interest and concerns about the environment are reflected in his paintings of Louisiana landscapes.
