Majolica Footed Jardiniere on Pedestal

20th century, in the 19th-century taste, the bowl molded with lion's heads, the base with a cut-cornered foot, presented on a conforming pedestal.
jardiniere h. 12", dia. 14-1/2", pedestal h. 30-3/4"

Provenance: The Estate of Donald J. Hurst, Waterloo, Iowa.

  • Condition: **The jardiniere is in overall very good condition with no losses or cracks - there is a small glazing imperfection to the underside of the body, which may be innate. The top of the pedestal has some abrading and scratches to glaze from rubbing with the bottom of the jardiniere. There is a chip to the leaf edge on one scrolled capital, and fine crazing to glaze throughout. Pedestal height, which was omitted from the catalogue description, is 30-3/4"; overall height is 42-3/4".
