Mexican Sterling Silver Demitasse Set

fourth quarter 20th century, in the Spanish Colonial taste, including:
a coffeepot, h. 8-1/2", l. 8-3/4";
a covered sugar bowl, h. 5", w. 5-1/2";
a cream jug, h. 5", l. 4-1/8"; and
an oval tray, 15-1/2" x 11-1/2",
the hollowware with serpentine-lobed, pear-shaped bodies and acanthus-crested handles, the tray lobed with integral handles, all with applied rococo-scroll edging.
86.22 total t. oz.

  • Condition: **Scattered tiny nicks, pinpoint dings and scuffs, with a network of fine scratches on the plateau of the tray, all consistent with age and occasional use, but no dents, breaks or repairs. The insulators on the teapot have shrunk and cracked a bit and, while intact and secure, there is a "wobble" in the handle. Each piece stamped, on the underside, "Sterling Mexico".
