Napoleon III Boullework, Glass and Gilt-Bronze Cave a Liqueur

third quarter 19th century, French, the serpentine-fronted case decorated with a grid of brass inlay, and fitted with a lift-out tray set with gilt-bronze hardware, retaining four decanters and sixteen matching liqueur glasses, the lock signed "Th Annee 22 R. CHAPON".

  • Condition: **In overall good condition. There is a horizontal shrinkage crack that runs the length of the case bottom and another notable shrinkage crack to the bottom of the lift-out tray. The glasses are from two nearly identical sets; one with slightly larger stem foot and a hairline taller. Edge (presumably chip) has been sanded out of one foot rim. There is a "flea-bite" chip to one glass rim.
