Napoleon III Inlaid Mahogany Liqueur Case, third quarter 19th century, the serpentine-front case set with chased brass, mother-of-pearl and rosewood rococo cartouches on both the front and top, the lid and front lifting to reveal a fitted interior, with a lift-out rosewood tray with gilt-bronze fittings, four engraved liqueur bottles and twelve matching glasses in the fitted tray, h. 10-1/2", w. 12-3/4", d. 9-1/2".


  • Condition: The lid has a 4" shrinkage crack to the veneer, with minor separation. Various separation at glue joints throughout. Evidence of veneer repair to the burl on the left of the case. One inch of ebony trim lacking at the rear left edge. Scattered wormholes throughout. Four cordial glasses lacking. One lip of the decanter is chipped, as well as two of the stoppers having small chips. One small abraded spot in the left front of the case. All inlay and hardware are intact.
