Napoleon III Tortoiseshell and Gilt-Bronze Bombe Jewel Chest third quarter 19th century, in the Louis XIV taste, the chest with masque-molded bronze corners and rococo-style bronze fittings, and a plush-lined interior, h. 5-3/4", w. 9-1/4", d. 7".


  • Condition: There are age cracks to the tortoiseshell overall, commensurate with age. Tiny losses to tortoise on corners of the top; some small repaired chips to tortoise on the bottom of one side. Bronze with scattered wear to the gilt. Missing one horizontal trim piece above the foot on one side. Fabric is later, and has some losses.
