Napoleon III Walnut and Burl Center Table

late 19th century, in the Louis XV taste, the turtle-form top triple-banded and centered by an inlaid scene of cavorting putti, above a conforming banded frieze, raised on cabriole legs ending in sabots.

  • Condition: **In good to very good French-polished and restored condition.

    The top has been polished in the not-too-distant past. No losses to the marquetry in the center noted. There are some small spots of filler around the perimeter of the top.

    The table is sturdy and strong with no movement or play at the legs noted. Normal minor mars, shrinkage and wear.

    One face of one leg exhibits areas of rough surface and raised finish.
