Newcomb College Arts and Crafts Matte-Glazed Pottery Bowl, New Orleans, Louisiana, ca. 1916, decorated by Cynthia Littlejohn (Pugh), with misty depictions of live oaks and Spanish moss, the bowl marked with Newcomb's impressed "NC", the "1916" registration number, "IF7" and Cynthia Littlejohn's initials, as well as "49", probably the shape number, h. 5-3/4", dia. 8-1/2"


  • Condition: No visible losses, chips or repairs. There are two very light accretions (gray marks) on the bowl glaze that may be graphite, and can probably be removed with cleaning. Faint crazing is present throughout, and there are light surface scratches and staining to the bowl interior. In overall very good condition. Note correct dimensions: h. 5-3/4", dia. 8-1/2"
