Newcomb College Pottery Matte Glaze Low Bowl, ca. 1914, New Orleans, Louisiana, decorated with a bas relief-molded rim on a blue ground, decorated by Anna Frances Simpson (1880-1930) and potted by Joseph Meyer (1848-1931), marked "NC", for Newcomb College, "JM", for Joseph Meyer, and "6Y81", the 1914 registration number, a "C" in a circle identifying the clay, "256" and "301", one of which identifies the shape, h. 3-3/4", dia. 6-1/4".


  • Condition: In overall very good condition. No visible losses. Crazing and light staining to the inside glaze, notably along the bottom.
