  • Condition: **Queen Anne Pair, "Co": Scattered bumps and dings commensurate with age, but no significant dents noted, though there does appear to be a hammered-out and polished dent at the widest part of one cellar, about 1" long. There is a short hairline crack on the basal edge of one, with solder on the inside, but this appears to be an original construction flaw and not a later repair. Note that while the cellars have the same maker's mark, the date marks are separated by two years and the cellars are not absolutely Identical; i.e. one foot-ring is slightly taller than the other. Marks on the inside of the bowls are worn but legible.

**Queen Anne Pair, Clare: Scattered bumps and dings consistent with age and use, and a well-worn surface with rich patina. Most of the edges of the panels show some silver solder lines where the thinned edges have been reinforced, though there appear to have been only a few actual splits. Marks rubbed, with the date and maker's marks reasonably legible, the lion's head less so, and the Britannia mark completely worn.

**George I Single, Roode: Several professionally repaired splits and worn areas, most notably at two corners and two vertical joins, with some scattered spot repairs. Small 1/8" area of corrosion in the bowl. No dents. Hallmarks rubbed on some edges but legible.

**George II Pair, Wood: In fair condition with moderate wear throughout. Small holes on three upper corners of each salt where the silver has thinned away at the join. One of these holes has two short 1/4" creases, apparently a flaw in the original construction. One cellar has a tiny 1/8" crack on the basal edge of one short side. Some rubbing to the hallmarks, but they are all legible.

**George II Pair, Stone: One cellar has a small spot of corrosion in the bowl which extends through to the underside; the same cellar has solder lines running the length of three panel joins where thinning or a split has been repaired. There are a few other scattered spot repairs. The other cellar has a more extensive area of repair at one corner where a join and top edges of two adjacent panels has been repaired; this cellar also has some scattered spot repairs. All repairs are professionally done and without aesthetic detriment to the exterior. Somewhat faded gilding, and with the usual assortment of scuffs and bumps associated with age. Marks generally good, though the maker's mark is only part-struck on both salts.
