Pair of 19th-Century Italian Silver Spill Vases

  • Condition: Overall Condition: Good. A few scattered bumps and dents around the rim, making both vases slightly out-of-round. Otherwise in very good condition with no breaks or repairs noted, exhibiting only the expected wear consistent with age and use. Glass liners later as noted. Each piece marked (on the underside) with: 1) the "globe & star /2" mark for second standard (.800) silver in use in Lombardy-Venetia 1812-1872; 2) the "plough" mark for the Milan assay office; and 3) the "TP" with a goat maker's mark of Tommaso Panizza. Marks excellent.
