Pair of American Eastlake Victorian Giltwood Mantel Mirrors, fourth quarter 19th century, each with a spindle gallery crest and molded flowers, the frame sides with inset reeded panels and columns, h. 79", w. 63". Provenance: Lower Garden District, New Orleans, Louisiana.


  • Condition: In "as found" condition. One has a recast sunflower finial at the left side of the center crest. Both blocks are loose at the base of each column. Part of the right gallery and spindles are missing. Other small scattered losses. The other mirror has some damage and loss to the gallery (left center). Some scattered chips to the gesso. Both blocks are loose at the base of each column. Both have old gold repaint and imperfections to the silvering from age.
