Pair of American Late Classical Mahogany Stools
second quarter 19th century, each with a molded apron on a curule base joined by turned stretchers.

Condition: **Both are tight and sturdy, with an older refinished surface with minor surface scratches, mars and indications of age and use.
Upholstery in very good condition.
Stool A: One side of the apron exhibits areas of bubbled veneer that have been laid back down, with a couple associated veneer patches and several small losses of 1/4" diameter or smaller.
Stool B: Some small slivers of missing veneer on the upper edge of the apron. A wood loss at an upper corner with some attendant veneer loss due to a wood knot detaching. The area including veneer loss is about fingernail-sized. There is a missing sliver of veneer on a horizontal corner edge, about 1/4" high by 2" long, and a vertical loss at a corner, about 3/16" by 2".
