Pair of Bohemian Carefully Detailed Tinted Biscuit Figures, ca. 1849-1860, made by Johann Moehling, comprising a gesturing female holding flowers in one hand and a male figure presenting a "nest" containing a pair of cherubim, each in lavish gilt-trimmed polychrome costume, impressed "AM" on the base of each, h. 22", dia. 7-1/2".


  • Condition: Significant repairs have been made to the base of the female figure and to the figure itself, where her dress attaches to the base. Inpainting is present along these repairs, notably to the back of the dress. The bouquet in her hand has also been repaired in two places. Repairs have been made to the ribbon (clay piller/ modelling added) on the male figure's shoulder.
