Pair of Chinese Vases with Gilt-Bronze Mounts

19th century, each of baluster form, with flared lip and slightly splayed foot, the body decorated with opposing five-clawed dragons chasing the flaming pearl, amid birds, fruit, flowers and clouds, all in the famille rose palette on a celadon-ground, the neck and foot each encircled by a band of dense floral design on a gilt ground, having ruyi scepter-form handles mounted with ormolu wreaths.

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition. There is a small chip to the tip of one handle on one vase. On the other vase, one handle has two tiny surface chips to glaze. A few minor losses to glaze pigment on low-relief flora and fauna are scattered throughout.
