19th century, oils on canvas, unsigned, the former of an elegantly dressed lady before a mirror, the latter of a woman harvesting grapes in an arbor, each set within an attractive rococo-style gesso and carved giltwood frame with coiled acanthine design.

    Surface dirt, toning of the varnish layer; craquelure pattern visible; signs of inpainting lower left (ground); mid-right (red skirt); mid-left (trees). Frame with surface marks, nicks and abrasions; separation lower center; small losses along edges; signs of past restorations.
    Vanity:
    Surface dirt; toning of the varnish layer; signs of inpainting upper center (her chest); upper right (chair) and lower center (floor); scattered small areas of inpainting mid-left (red cloth) and lower center (dress); visually areas of inpainting upper center (above her head). Frame with surface marks, nicks and abrasions; separation and areas of loss lower center; small losses along edges; signs of past restoration; signs of repairs to top pieces.
