Pair of English Ruby Glass Cornucopia Vases, mid-19th century, each having a mottled black marble plinth with a lotus-molded bronze holder supporting a vase embellished with white and gilt enameled scrollwork, the prism-hung edges cut in the Gothic fashion, h. 9-1/2", w. 11-1/4", d. 6-1/2".

  • Condition: Condition consistent with age and materials. Scattered losses to the gilded decoration and tarnishing to the bronze on both. Prisms on both examples with minor flake chips, most notable on the tips. Both with surface soiling and faint surface scratches. One example with two losses to the crimped lip and slight looseness to the base. The other example with a possible old repair to where the bronze meets the glass, at the foot of the cornucopia; one flake chip to the lip; surface losses to the marble plinth around the bronze base (perhaps due to an old repair).
