Pair of Franco-Japanese Pottery and Gilt-Bronze Covered Garniture Vases, first half 20th century, the cobalt and orange vases and covers decorated with birds and pots of peonies, mounted with rococo-style pierced bronze bases, scroll-molded handles and covers set with cone-form bronze knops, marked on the underside in red underglaze with an Asian seal, h. 21-3/4", w. 10-1/2", d. 6-1/4".


  • Condition: In overall good condition. No visible losses, cracks, chips or repairs. Both vases exhibit crazing to glaze throughout and light accretions and oxidation to bronze mounts. Condition is as to be expected with age and use.
