Good Pair of French First Standard (.950) Silver Casters, first quarter 20th century, by Tetard Freres, Paris, working from 1903, each of traditional hexagonal baluster form, the screw-on cap pierced with alternating diaper and foliate openings, with conforming finial, h. 8-3/4", w. 3", 22.18 total t. oz.


  • Condition: One caster has had a compression dent on the waisted part of the foot repaired, leaving a tiny hole/split on edge where two panels meet, and a dulled finish and slight ripple around the stem. Otherwise in quite good condition with no issues beyond the expected surface wear. Heavy gauge. Each piece marked (the rim, foot and cap) with the French First Standard "Minerva" head, and (on the foot) with the Tetard Freres maker's mark and "Tetard Fres. / Paris".
