Pair of French Peinte-Gris Columnar-Form Pedestals, ca. 1900, the stop-reeded and fluted standards with inset carved scrollwork, and set with composite capitals and cove-molded tops, h. 61-1/2", w. 15-1/2", d. 15-1/2".

  • Condition: In estate condition. On one column abacas (above capital), two corners have been repaired and another replaced, but not painted. There is a 12" jagged crack in the fluting with traces of filler. On the other column, there are two shrinkage cracks with losses to the astragal molding, and four large shrinkage cracks that run the length of the fluting. Both columns exhibit some past signs of restoration/repairs to acanthus leaves on capitals, and losses to fluted molding. Scattered nicks, scratches and wormhole damage are present throughout columns.
