Pair of George III Sterling Silver Toast Racks

  • Condition: Overall Condition: Good. Silver solder repairs to the central separator on both pieces, at the base ends and the finial, indicating repairs to both; a few of the base ends of other separators have similarly been tacked back down. Otherwise fine, with no condition issues other than the expected signs of wear commensurate with age. Crest well-engraved; worn but legible. Hallmarked (on the underside edge of each) with: 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London crowned leopard's head; 3) the date letter "P" for 1809-1810; 4) the George III bust duty mark; and 5) the "W.B/R.S" maker's mark of Burwash & Sibley [Grimwade 3050]. Marks very nice and clean.
