Pair of Jacob Petit Paris Porcelain Vases

mid-19th century, French, in two parts, depicting sea deities riding framboise-ground dolphins, the deities supporting cornucopia-form vases painted with flowers, the vases molded with leaves and cattails, the dolphins inspired by Meissen, signed "J.P." in underglaze blue.

Provenance: The Estate of Frank Fasullo, New Orleans, Louisiana.


  • Condition: **In overall good condition. Made in two parts; the male vase is somewhat loose. Each with some surface wear. The vase top of the female vase has been broken into several pieces and restored, and the upper rim has been restored. The right tip of the blue gown has been broken off and reattached, as has the associated raspberry edge of the dolphin's fin.
