Pair of Louis XV Polychrome Fauteuils, late 18th century, each with a padded back surmounted by a foliate shield crest, joined by molded scrolling arms to the padded seat, above a shield-carved frieze, raised on molded cabriole legs ending in scrolled feet, h. 36-1/2".

  • Condition: In overall good condition. These chair exhibit scattered rubbing, shrinkage, typical minor repairs, surface losses and wear, giving them an attractive distressed patina. There is scattered inpainting and re-touching to the surfaces throughout. The legs are tight and firmly affixed. One arm is very slightly loose. The upholstery is in good condition and retaining what appears to be antique under-upholstery. There are several light stains to the seats. Scattered old insect damage throughout, with some filler applied to areas of loss.
