Pair of Louis XV-Style Polychrome Fauteuils

mid-19th century, each with a padded and domed back surmounted by a shield-form crest, joined by padded outscrolled arms to the padded seat, raised above a foliate- and shell-carved apron on cabriole legs headed by shield carving and ending in scrolled toes, upholstered in silk damask.

  • Condition: **In overall very good condition. The painted surfaces have been extensively rubbed, with later clear finish over their tops.

    Tight and sturdy, with no visible breaks or repairs to the legs. The arms are tight; two with a slight shrinkage gap at their joint with the stiles.

    Upholstery is in very good condition.
