Pair of Louis XVI-Style Giltwood Fauteuils, early 20th century, each with a padded rectangular back surmounted by a floral ribbon crest, joined by padded acanthine-carved arms to the like seat, raised on fluted tapering circular legs ending in toupie feet, h. 39".

  • Condition: In overall very good condition. Both chairs are very tight and solid with no evidence of breaks or repairs to the legs. The surface exhibits normal minor rubbing and wear to the gilt, at places revealing the underlying gesso. There is evidence of scattered re-gilding. The upholstery on both seats is worn and threadbare at points, revealing the muslin under-upholstery.
