Pair of Old Sheffield Plate Wine Coasters and a Later Silverplate Ice Bucket

the George IV wine coasters, 19th century, with gadrooned sides and rims around a turned wood base, dia. 5-3/4";
the silverplate ice bucket, 20th century, by Webster-Wilcox, Meriden, Connecticut, in the Regency taste, with gadrooned rim and ringed lion's masque handles, the associated domed lid with gadrooned knob finial and opening to reveal a white glass insulated liner, h. 12-1/4", dia. 8-1/2".


Provenance: Bruce McCashin Collection.


  • Condition: **Coasters: Bleeding to the copper on the body all around, and one with a narrow 3/8" split at the natural join near the base. Minor bumps on the rim. No splits or cracks on the wood bases; the baize liner on the underside of one is missing. No maker's/manufacturer's marks.
    Ice Bucket: In good condition; some surface scuffs, but no dents, breaks or repairs. The lid is associated, but not original; the knob is detached. Marked (on the underside) "Webster-Wilcox / IS / International Silver Co. / 01501".
