Pair of Paris Porcelain Figures of Dancers mid-19th century, retailed by Prudent Mallard, New Orleans, comprising a male holding castanets, and a female holding a lyre and music, stamped by the maker, Chantilly, and marked "P Mallard New Orleans", in rouge de fer on the base of each, h. 15-1/2", dia. 5-1/2".

  • Condition: In overall good condition. No visible chips, cracks or flakes. There is evidence of past professional restoration of quite good quality. The bases appear to have once been drilled as lamps, but each body is now repaired at the place where the rod would have broken its surface. The neck of the woman, and the arms/hands of the male figure may also have been restored.
