Pair of Rare American Gilt-Bronze and Glass Rococo Revival Six-Light Candelabra, mid-19th century, probably New York or Philadelphia, now on marble plinths, the bronze bases decorated with rocaille work and flowers, and mounted with tapered blue opaline pillar-molded glass standards, the leaf-molded, scrolled and pierced candle branches set with unusual pierced drip pans and tulip-form candlecups, h. 29-1/2", dia. 17-1/2".

  • Condition: A 1/2" casting fissure on the rocaille base edge has opened up into a small crack on one of the candelabrum. The other example has a 1" chip to its marble base and a 1" crack. No visible losses, cracks or repairs to the opaline stems or to the candle arms and cups. There are some accretions and light oxidation to the gilt-bronze as to be expected with age and use. In overall good condition.
