Pair of Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Candelabra

the pattern introduced in 1882, this pair 1892-1902, New York, New York, probably designed by Charles T. Grosjean (1841-1888), each with a large-knopped acanthus-frond baluster standard surmounted by a short standard surrounded by five scrolling acanthus-decorated arms, all terminating in a vasiform nozzle with detachable bobeche (one lacking), above a bayonet-fit domed pentagonal plinth base raised on acanthus scroll-mantled lion's paw feet, the whole decorated with floral and acanthus scroll banding.

  • Condition: **Nearly all of the arms have breaks and splits, some of which have been repaired with lead solder, and several are bent out of alignment (visible in illustration). One bobeche missing as noted in the catalogue description. Otherwise in good used condition, with scattered bumps, dings and wear. Each piece marked (on the underside of the base): "Tiffany & Co. / 7251 Makers 7026 / Sterling Silver / 925-2000 / T".
