Pair of Victorian Brass, Tole, Glass and Nickel-Plated Carriage Lights

fourth quarter 19th century, the faceted sides set with cut glass panels and decorated with molded brass trim, with brass eagle finials, the quiver-form tapered bases with molded trim and acorn-form pendant finials.

  • Condition: **In overall good condition. There is a 1" rust hole to the tole over the glass case. The latch on the same lantern does not engage the lock plate. The bottom nickel portion on both lights has been re-soldered. Both examples exhibit rubbing to gilding, nicks and scratches, all of which are to be expected with age, material and use. Height of light/lantern is 32", not 37". Carriage lamps are not electrified, and have no font or other burner parts present.
