Pair of Victorian Silverplate Wine Coolers
third quarter 19th century, by Elkington & Co., of campana form with gauffered rim and applied grapevine decoration crossing to form the handles, all above an acanthus-capped domed foot, with detachable liner.

Condition: **An attractive pair in good condition. No dents or breaks noted. The pair has been re-plated at a later date; the underside is bright, but the surface area has developed a nice patina. The shallow (4-1/2" deep) liners are later replacements. Note that these are by Elkington & Co. (and so marked on the basal edge), one with their date-mark of 1859, the other with no date mark but with their trademark in use 1842-1864.
