Pair of Victorian Sterling Silver Wine Coolers

  • Condition: Overall Condition: Good. Several scattered shallow dents and dings on the underside of the bowl of each cooler, the longest about 5/8", but none of real significance. Good patina, excellent detail and engraving. One fused plate liner has some large areas of bleeding through to the copper around the rim. Each cooler hallmarked (on the body, under a handle) with: 1) the sterling lion passant; 2) the London leopard's head; 3) the date letter "C" for 1838-1839; 4) the Victoria's bust duty mark; and 5) the "EE/B/JW" in a trefoil maker's mark of Edward Barnard & Sons. An exceptional pair.
