Pair of White-Glazed Terracotta Chinoiserie Mandarin Figures

third quarter 20th century, probably Italian, the female figure holding a fan and leaning toward the male figure, each dressed in traditional costume, seated on baroque-style stools with tasseled cushions.

Provenance: Estate of Hurley Wayne Gray, Houston, Texas.


  • Condition: Both figures have some scattered chips to feet and edges, most of which are to the pedestal bases. Pillow under male figure has a 3" vertical hairline crack to the right side. In overall good condition.
