Paris Porcelain Neoclassical Garniture Urn

second quarter 19th century, the base with a polychrome courting couple on the front and tooled Gothic arches on the sides, the primary scene depicting a queen with her child and attendant, guarded by a centurion, overlooking the Bay of Naples, set with carefully molded handles, the back with tooled flowers and scrollwork.

  • Condition: **Formerly mounted as a lamp. Presents very well. There is gilt restoration to top rim, the neck, and the lower molded edge. The upper portion of the bottom part of the urn has restored gilt and possible restoration to porcelain. The handles appear intact with no damage or losses, but there is some gold paint on the inside of each handle, nearest the neck indicating some wear or restoration.
