The Nautilus 3700 was introduced in 1976 and was in production until 1990. It was designed by Gerald Genta and nicknamed "Jumbo" for its impressive size, unusual for that time. The ultra thin, automatic caliber 28-255C movement remains the thinnest automatic movement with a center rotor ever produced. There are fewer than 1150 timepieces produced in yellow gold references 3700. The Nautilus reference 3700 was the first sport watch in the history of the manufacturer and is considered one of the most important sports watches to date.
