Provincial Louis XV-Style Walnut Commode

19th century, the rectangular top with rounded corners, over a conforming case fitted with three foliate-carved drawers, above a like-carved apron, raised on tapering cabriole legs.

  • Provenance: The Estate of The Honorable Lloyd & Beryl Ann Bentsen.
  • Condition: **In good "as found" condition. The piece exhibits normal mars, abrasions, shrinkage and wear. The top retains a number of stains and rings.

    The case exhibits some side-to-side movement at its glue joints.

    The top drawer is missing a splinter at the bottom of a drawer side, causing it to bind.

    Normal dings to the thin molding at the perimeter of the drawers, including one shallow chip about 3/8" long.
