Rare Brunswick-Balke Collender Co. Marquetry-Inlaid, Ebonized and Cast Iron "Monarch" Billiards Table

ca. 1880, now converted to a pool table, bearing the serial number 22067, the aprons with geometric inlay in the aesthetic taste, on a gold-painted cast iron base modeled as lions.
h. 33", w. 59", l. 109"

  • Condition: **In very good refinished and restored condition. The wooden elements exhibit nominal wear and normal minor rubbing and mars from age and use.

The assembled table is very sturdy and stable. Two bolts are missing from the bumpers. Their absense does not appear to effect the integrity of the table. 10 brass bolt covers are missing.

Felt bumpers in good condition. The felt/baize for the top of the table is now lacking. There is one tear in a leather strap of one pocket net. The pockets and nets are later additions to convert from a billiard to a pool table.

The table is accompanied by a pair of cue sticks, a cue ball, a set of 15 pool balls and a set of 14 red and one green snooker balls.
