The Porcelain Collection of Elizabeth Russ Bailey and the Late Dr. James E. Bailey, Jr. of Montgomery, Alabama Jim and Betsy Bailey traveled to many parts of the world collecting silver and porcelains, but in July 1975 they came upon a small group of pieces of Flow Blue from Grindley and Company which was made in 1891. They were enchanted with the pattern and began to look for more. As they read about Flow Blue and discovered it for sale in antique shops across the south and east coast, they developed a passion for it. Dr. and Mrs. Bailey prided themselves on their ability to find and purchase many unusual pieces of Flow Blue. They continued collecting until 1980 when the number of quality pieces on the market diminished. The Baileys displayed their collection through the succeeding years, an assemblage numbering over 950 pieces.
