Regency Giltwood and Ebonized Tabernacle Mirror

first quarter 19th century, in the neoclassical taste, with cluster-column sides, the tablet molded with the Goddess Ceres and her putti harvesting wheat, the coved crest set with giltwood spherules.
h. 40-3/4", w. 28"

  • Condition: **In overall good condition. The surface is a mixture of original gilt and gold paint. There are no missing elements, but there is a gesso loss to some areas of the left cluster column on some of the spherules and on the top edge, all now repainted. The ebonized icon's heads and scene are all in good condition. The mirror plate is antique and likely original.
