Regency Mahogany Cellarette, first quarter 19th century, of sarcophagus form, the hinged lid centered by a panel and opening to a metal-lined interior, the tapering body raised on a molded rectangular base, h. 20-1/2", w. 28-1/4", d. 22-3/4".


  • Condition: The surface retains good color and exhibits normal mars, abrasions and indications of age and use. Metal interior lining appears to be replaced. There is a loss to the molding at the top of the base, just below the body of the cellarette. The loss is about 10" long. The corresponding molding on one side is loose. There are a few small scattered veneer losses at the perimeter edges, and two larger losses being at the bottom of the case, about 1-1/4" x 1/4", and at a bottom corner of the plinth, about 2" x 1/4".
