Regency-Style Mahogany Side Table/Server, 19th century, the long rectangular top above a conforming frieze fitted with a long central drawer centered by an ebonized lion's masque panel, raised on four tapering circular front legs headed by an ebonized anthemion-carved block capital and with gilt ribbed carving, ending on plinth bases, h. 38-1/2", w. 90-1/2", d. 27".


  • Condition: In very good polished and restored condition. Ebonizing and gilding renewed. The piece is very solid and stable, with normal mars, shrinkage wear and indications of age and use. The top exhibits some light surface scratches, a few dings, and a few veneer tears due to underlying shrinkage, the longest about 16". One of the tears has some filler in a gap. The top is very slightly warped at one perimeter edge. The base plinths are in quite good condition, with some shrinkage tears in their top surface. There is a veneer loss at the bottom vertical edge of one plinth, about 1" long by 5/8" high.
