French Restauration Gilt-Bronze and Glass Dessert Stand, second quarter 19th century, the grape-molded inverted vasiform base above a stepped plinth and set with a fluted standard supporting two cut glass plates, the upper ring handle set in an Ionic capital-form holder, h. 17-1/2", dia. 9-1/2".
- Condition: Scattered minor surface wear to the gilt. No repairs or losses to the bronze elements. No visible chips or cracks to the glass, but slight differences in height of the edge probably indicates minor chips were ground out. While the glass appears to be the same period as the bronze, they are likely period replacements, due to the size and fit.
