Restauration Mahogany and Marble-Top Center Table

first quarter 19th century, the circular dished charcoal marble top raised on a columnar standard to a concave tripartite plinth base.

  • Condition: **Solid and stable.

    The marble top has some light stains.

    The apron exhibits some shrinkage and a number of veneer chips and losses, now filled with either veneer or filler.

    The base has normal wear from feet to the edges. The top of the base has some areas of surface scratches. One rounded corner exhibits a veneer loss at the edge of the top surface, about 3" wide and 1-1/4" deep at its deepest spot, and a corresponding loss to the vertical edge, up to about 1-1/2" deep.
