Sarreguemines Majolica Lavabo and Walnut Stand

fourth quarter 19th century, French, the turtle-form fountain above a shell-form basin, its mouth mounted with a spout, the upper portion pierced to allow water to drip into the lower basin, impressed "Sarreguemines 913" and "Sarreguemines 914", mounted on a carved walnut boiserie stand decorated with engine-turned brass mounts.

  • Condition: **The porcelain is in fine condition. The backboard has old worm holes. There is a shrinkage crack across the top crest and another down the center seam. Nice, old patina.
