In 1919, he bought the jewelry and silver concern of H.C. The shop eventually moved to 515 Madison Avenue, and in 1917 a branch was opened in Newport, Rhode Island. They weathered the Depression fairly well, supported by the Newport and Manhattan elite, but in 1938 he closed the New York location. The Newport shop on Bellevue Avenue was still in operation at the time of his death on April 20, 1959.
