Suite of Seven American Late Classical Mahogany Dining Chairs, second quarter 19th century, attributed to Duncan Phyfe and Son, New York, each with a pinched waist and lotus-form splat centered by a roundel at its base, the gently bowed figured seat rail on saber legs, h. 33".   • Condition: Having later needlepoint covers, intact on 6 of 7, the 7th having a 3" x 5" loss to the cover in the center of the seat. Evidence of an old glue repair to one chair side where it meets the back. Also one large crack to the side of one leg. All chairs having various degrees of veneer loss. Finish showing light spots throughout. Surface scratches overall with deeper examples on the front legs. Structurally strong.
