Seven Pieces of Terracotta Pottery

fourth quarter 19th century, German and Danish, including a two-handled vase with enamel decoration, unsigned, h. 11-3/4", w. 6-3/4", a marked Villeroy & Boch bowl with enamel decoration, h. 3", dia. 6", and five amphorae and vases with enamel decoration, all marked "Peter Ipsen, Kjobenhavn (Copenhagen) Eneret", h. 5-1/4" to 6-1/4", dia. 3" to 3-3/4".


  • Condition: **Large vase has innate firing anomalies, including pitting from bubbles. A few small holes on body and semi-spherical firing crack on base bottom. Same vase body exhibits a chip to base bottom and two small surface chips to lower body.

    On the smaller vases, one has scattered chips to rim. One with repaired handle with small losses and adhesive residue still visible at repair site. Another with chip to rim. All vases exhibit some minor soiling and surface scratches to pigment and gilding.
